Write and collaborate on documents with handy AI improvements

Updated today

Docs in Dart can be used for all sorts of use cases including

  • General knowledge and information storage

  • Project summaries or PRDs

  • Blogs or other creative writing

  • Help center content

  • Company wikis and documentation

  • Changelogs

  • Meeting notes

  • And more

How to use Dart docs

  1. To create a document look towards the bottom of the navigation area in the left sidebar. You should see a section called Docs.

  2. Click on a folder such as Reports, or make a new folder by clicking the "+" icon next to Docs.

  3. Make a new document by clicking on the "+" icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Then just type away! Dart AI will automatically recommend an emoji for the doc based on its title, but you can always change this by just clicking on the emoji.

Styling and Structure

Keep your docs clean and professional using simple keyboard shortcuts or the context menu to organize your thoughts.

  • Use different heading levels to create clear sections and sub-sections

  • Use bold for key terms and italics for subtle emphasis or citations

  • Use different types of lists:

    • Bulleted lists: For quick brainstorming or grouping ideas

    • Numbered lists: For step-by-step instructions or rankings

    • Checklists: For tracking to-dos, requirements, or progress directly within the doc

  • Use horizontal lines to visually separate distinct sections

  • Use blockquotes to highlight important notes or direct quotes

Organizing data with tables

table sample

Keep your data structured and professional using Dart’s full table support. There are two easy ways to add them:

  • Select and highlight any text in your document and select the table option from the dropdown menu

  • Simply ask the Dart AI chat to "Create a table for..." followed by your data requirements (e.g., "Create a 6x7 table for project milestones"), and it will generate the grid for you
