Reports in Dart help you track progress, surface insights, and share updates with your team or stakeholders. Instead of manual compiling, Dart uses AI skills to transform your workspace activity into polished documents.
Report types
Standup report
These reports are designed for internal coordination and daily check-ins. Dart AI analyzes the last 24 hours of activity to create a per-person summary.
Grouped by assignee in alphabetical order
Highlights what was completed, what’s in progress, future plans, and any blockers
Every task mentioned is automatically linked for easy navigation
Changelog
Changelogs focus on completed tasks over the last week and are formatted for external stakeholders, users, or blog posts.
Organized by change type (e.g., New Features, Bug Fixes, Improvements)
Uses non-technical, user-facing language focused on impact
Includes direct links to the completed tasks for full transparency
How to generate a report
You can trigger report generation directly from the AI chat using one of three methods.
Simply ask the Dart to run the report (e.g., "Run the standup report" or "Write a changelog")
Select the desired report skill from the skills dropdown menu within AI chat
If you have toggled the Pinned setting in the skill configuration, the report skill will appear as a quick-access button at the bottom of your chat panel
By default, all generated reports are saved to your General Doc folder unless you have specified a different target folder in the skill settings or by specifying it in your AI chat prompt.
Choosing your AI model
You can also customize the "brain" behind your report. In the Skills settings, use the model dropdown to select a specific AI model (ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini) or leave it on Auto to let Dart choose the best model for the task.
Automation and scheduling
You can automate your reporting cadence so you never have to remember to run them manually.
In the report skill's settings, use the Run this skill automatically section to schedule reports (e.g., every weekday at 9:00 AM)
All generated reports are saved by default to your General Doc folder. You can also specify a different target folder within the skill's instructions if you'd like to organize them by project or month
Managing your reports
Once a report is generated, it exists as a Dart doc, giving you full flexibility to improve or edit it.
You can type directly into the doc to add personal notes or remove specific items
You can link tasks to your report by using the Link a task option found in the context menu in the top right corner beside your profile icon
Use the Doc AI button above the report title to further process the text (e.g. ask it to "summarize this into three bullet points" or "translate this into Spanish.")
Click the "..." icon in the top right to move the report to a new folder, export the text, or delete the doc
