A task status will tell you how close your task is to completion. Typical task statuses include:
To-do
Doing
In review
Done
You can see and edit the status property both in dartboards and individual tasks.
Viewing the status property in dartboards
Status is shown in all dartboard layouts. In board layouts, tasks are grouped by status by default. In calendar, status is shown in color by default. In list and roadmap layouts, status will show as a column like this:

By default, individual tasks will also show the task status. It will be visible in the properties section of the task, below the task title:
You can easily update the status by hovering over the current status and either changing it or marking it as done using the revealed check mark:
Custom Statuses
In addition to the default statuses, workspaces on the Premium plan and above can also set up custom statuses. To do this, go to Settings, then Properties, and click on Status. You’ll be able to add different statuses to the various status categories: Unstarted, Started, Blocked, Finished, and Canceled. From this menu, you can also edit the status icon, color, name, and description.
If you want different dartboards to use different statuses, you can do that as well.
See this article on how to use types to accomplish this.
